Cashed In

A couple of weeks ago, I commented on the auction apparently underway for High West Distillery.   Just a quick update here.

Yesterday, the announcement came that High West had been acquired by Constellation Brands.  While neither High West nor Constellation has disclosed the value of the transaction, the Wall Street Journal is reporting a value of approximately $160 million. Not bad for a company started just a few years ago.

Given Constellation’s size, it is highly unlikely that they will be required to describe the transaction in any significant detail in their reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission.  But I will check in on their reports periodically and report back what may  be gleaned from those filings.
